Mid West Clare Cluster
Kilmurry Ibrickane Parish (also known as Mullagh Parish) is part of the Mid West Clare parish cluster
As the Church faces new challenges in pastoral care and evangelisation in the coming decades, the idea of team ministry based on parish clusters is quickly gaining acceptance and support.
Clusters are groups of parishes based on geography as well as common history, interests and concerns.
The Cluster is a forum to share initiatives, experiences and solutions as we look towards the future of the Church in Ireland. Team ministry, as well as being a support for priests, will enable the pastoral team to maintain and develop pastoral services throughout the parishes of the cluster.
Each Parish in the Cluster will retain its own identity and each will have its own Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Committee.
The following is a word of greeting from Bishop Kieran at the recent launch of our Cluster Brochure:
“Greetings to all who form part of the Mid Clare Cluster.
The pastoral plan of the Diocese of Killaloe commits us as Church to doing all we can to enable the Gospel of Christ to reach people in our time and place. It invites each of us to use our gifts and talents, so that we can create communities of faith and hope in our own localities. The new model of Church is one in which priests and laity work together in partnership and use the gifts and abilities of each person to discover and share the message of God’s presence in our life.
Your coming together under the Holy Spirit is a sign of your communion in Jesus Christ. As you work together in building up of the Kingdom of God in your part of the Diocese of Killaloe, your experience will also be of benefit to Christian communities elsewhere in the Diocese.
I pray the blessing of the Spirit of God be upon you all. I look forward to being part of this journey as I get to know the Diocese and the many people engaged in different ministries in the local church at this time.
Yours in Jesus Christ,
Bishop Kieran
