Wednesdays on the Web Kilmurry Ibrickane & Miltown Parish

May 22nd, 2020

For the next number of Wednesdays we hope to do a prayer service at 8pm each Wednesday—Log onto www.kibparish.ie and click on ‘View our Webcam’ on the top right of the page.
We ask you to send in your petitions to us to the Parish Offices on both Parishes
(seal them in an envelope and we will remember your petition on the night)
After the short prayer service, we are inviting local musicians young and not so young to play each Wednesday night or sing. All of this will be done in our Church Building making sure that Social Distancing Guidelines are adhered to.
If you are willing to play or to sing you might contact the Parish Office in either Parish: Mullagh 7087161 or Miltown 7079829 or you might contact any of the Parish Council members in either Parish.
(This can be watched back on the Website for anyone who cant watch on the night)

Todays Thought

“You have to chase your dreams, no matter what. The impossible just takes a little longer. One stroke at a time, one step at a time, the impossible is easy to achieve.”

Vocations Sunday

April 30th, 2020

We need to imagine things before we can reach them, We need to imagine the future before we truly inhabit it. Covid 19 has taught us that the old system is dying, the vast majority of the Priests in Killaloe Diocese are cocooning. The Spirit is pointing us to something new but we will need imagination and courage to go there. Not to keep going back or thinking that we can go back to what was there. Before each of us have been called at baptism, called and gifted to become involved in our community, throughout this crisis we see so many people “ministering” to each other, caring, giving and reaching out. We need to discover our giftedness to become involved in our community and to enable others to also become involved. In the Diocese of Killaloe we are lucky that 25 people are presently being prepared for ministry in catechesis and Pastoral Care. We warmly welcome this initiative and look forward to these generous people becoming involved. We are lucky that we have Rita O’Dwyer from our area.
The future is in all our hands, We are called to become aware of our own gifts and to encourage and enable the gifts of others. I conclude with a prayer from planetary prayers.

I am too young to be dead
To be stagnant in Spirit
Inspire me to speak original and
Life giving words
And to creatively give shape to the new
Come and teach me how to
Dance with delight
Whenever you send a new
Melody my way
